Titan America considered a number of factors when selecting Castle Hayne for the site of our new cement plant.
All of our operations are located on the east coast of the U.S. It makes sense for us to continue our growth here.
Other qualities we recognized in Castle Hayne:
- Strong growth in population and economic development
- Likely to have a need for construction and transportation
- Excellent community college to train our employees
The infrastructure itself proved to be very favorable including:
- An existing facility in an area already zoned to be a cement plant
- An existing quarry operation
- An existing rail service
- Located near a major interstate highway
- River and port access
- Existing power
Materials are readily available to make cement
- Local limestone is chemically well-suited for cement making
- We can use the fly ash from regional power plants
- We can use the gypsum from local sources
